Matthew Bretherick – Employment Solicitor
Matthew is a Solicitor at the firm. He joined Consilia Legal in March 2019 as a paralegal. He started his training contract January 2021 and qualified into the Employment Team as a Solicitor in July 2022.
Matthew specialises in Employment Law matters and worked alongside the Employment Team during his training contract. He assists and advises on contentious Litigation ranging from unfair dismissal to discrimination claims in the Employment Tribunal for both Claimants and Respondents.
He also advises non-contentious matters for businesses and on settlement agreements for individuals. He is known for his friendly and helpful demeanour and his common-sense approach to legal issues.
Matthew studied law at BPP University in Leeds graduating with a 2:1 and went on to study his LLM Legal Practice Course at BPP Leeds during which he studied both Family Law and Employment Law. He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Outside of the office, he enjoys watching Rugby League supporting the Bradford Bulls, walking in the countryside and playing tennis.
