At Consilia Legal, the family law team is headed by Sally Clark and Laura Clapton who are both directors of the practice. The family department specialise in all areas of private family law including divorce and separation, financial settlements, pre and post nuptial agreements and issues involving arrangements for children.
Sally and Laura have a wealth of experience in particular in assisting mid to high net worth clients in connection with financial matters and cases involving international elements, businesses and family trust arrangements.
Sally and Laura are both members of Resolution and sit on the West and North Yorkshire Resolution committees. Sally is the family mediation representative on the West Yorkshire Family Justice Board and is active in promoting family mediation across the region, recently having provided training to Magistrates and Legal Advisors on the role of family mediaiton within the new Child Arrangements Programme. A background of working in the mental health sector of the health service has equipped Sally with a number of highly useful transferable skills to the family law setting.
Sally is committed to seeking to resolve issues in the most qualitative and cost effective manner as possible outside the Court arena. Where necessary however Sally is a robust and effective litigator. Laura is known for providing the highest level of client care and is praised for her professionalism and commitment to her clients.
